Our group was known as the “Australian Blacksmiths’ Association Tamworth & District” and started in 1994 by Craig Drew who completed his Blacksmith apprenticeship with the N.S.W. Railway and was awarded the Churchill Fellowship to study the industry in America. From 2001 we held ongoing talks with the Tamworth Regional Craft Centre with regard to joining their association which happened in 2004 and we erected a shed where we carry on our Blacksmithing hobby today. In 2006 after lengthy discussions it was decided to change to our current name to fully show who and where we are. Membership is open to Men & Women; free tuition is provided by existing members to help you get established with ongoing support.
